M-Files completes this within Alibre 3D CAD and a licence of M-Files is included within the Alibre Design Expert. M-Files is also integrated within 2D systems such as AutoCAD
For other 3D Computer Aided Design systems M-Files takes a different route and links directly with their product data management systems.

Integration with AutoCAD
M-Files provides special integration with AutoCAD with support for xrefs, searching within DWG files, and inserting M-Files properties into AutoCAD drawings, for example, a part number, or the name of the responsible engineer or designer in a title block
